Abstract

The handwritten Mongolian Kanjur stored in the National Library of Mongolia is not complete. In this paper, some text features of  Śatasāhasrikā-Prajnāpāramitā have been studied. These volumes are not complete, eight of twelve volumes have been kept and other volumes, Nga, Сha, Tha, Naare are still missing. Some differences in the title of eight volumes might be connected to the Tibetan original text, or it might be a collection of volumes from different places. The colophon of first volume has no information about the translator. In the volumes of Saint-Petersburg’s Mongolian handwritten Kanjur and printed Mongolian Kanjur, it is noted that this volume was translated by Širegetü güüši, and the translation was edited by tel keletü Dorji graγ neretü delger bandi kiged Mergen dayičin tayiji. In Mongolian and Tibetan historical sources we can find information that leads us to believe that all twelve volumes ot Śatasāhasrikā-Prajnāpāramitā were translated by Širegetü güüši. We view that the absence of the name of the translator in the colophon of Ulaanbaatar Kanjur as not typical.
