A Study of the Function of the Character Huurchi Sonom in the Play Bi bish(Not Me) by D.Natsugdorji and D.Namdag

Abstract

The present paper studies the function of the character of Huurchi Sonom in the play Bi Bish (Not Me) written by D. Nachugdoiji and D. Namtug, through analyzing the relation of the five songs he sang with the theme, ideology and other characters of the play, and concludes that the character accomplishes several functions such as presenting the five songs closely related to the main theme of the play, communicating with other characters, and expressing the main ideology of patriotism and the criticism toward Guomindang’s wrongdoings.
