Abstract

The paper conducts a comparative study to the Bodi Mergen Khan chanted by Khuurchi Lobsang and the Classical Novel Saqiγuluγsan Ergümǰilegsen Üliger (the Legend of Deification), and concludes that: first, Bodi Mergen Khan by Khuurchi Lobsang was originated from Saqiγuluγsan Ergümǰilegsen Üliger; second, in the Bodi Mergen Khan Khuurchi Lobsang, some of the motifs of Bodi Mergen Khan were changed, some were replaced, and some new motifs were added; third, Khuurchi Lobsang adapted the story, catering to the audience, with shamanistic, Buddhist and also Mongolian cultural contents.
