Abstract

Historical events that the Soviet Red Army crushed German fascism in the Second World War and the Soviet and Mongolian joint armies breaked up the Japanese invaders in the battle of Khalkh Gol in 1939 and war for Liberation in 1945, left deep memories to the nation’s hearts. Therefore, a large number of human names which became evidence related to war and battle are still being used among Mongolians. For example, nation’s name such as Seseer (Mongolians calls USSR as a Seseer), Oros (Russia), Orsoo, military general’s name: Zhukov, military position’s name: Marshall, weapon’s name: Tank, Vintov and name refers to the military organization: Otryad (it means ‘brigade’), Zastav (military point) and Army. We have proved these on the basis of evidence. Moreover, we revealed many names which became symbol for arrival of peace after a war victory. Some of them are: Yalalt (victory), Bat-Yalalt (solid victory), Enkh (tranquility) and Enkhtaivan (peace).
