Abstract

In this article, author discusses cultural and civil feature’s studies of nomadic Mongols, in other words, provides a lingua-culturology in-sight to Mongolian language through the stability expressions such as traditional tales and legends, eulogies, epics, folk poems and songs, as well as proverbs, idioms, phrases, puzzles, metaphors and metonymy. Thus, interpreting metaphor examples requires understanding several aspects of the national mentality.

The fundamental basis for creating those is closely related with dwelling area, geographical landscape, natural and weather conditions, plants, animals, style of living and various natural phenomena.

Metaphor study is on the intersection of different sciences such as culturology, psychology, theory of cognition, cultural anthropology, socio-cultural anthropology and ethnography; hence theirs respective research methodologies and results are utterly applicable.

The main criterion for successful study of the nomadic mentality is comprehension of three basic categories: man and nature, man and animals, man and people. From intermingling of these, the national soul and stereotypes are born. These two are driving forces behind establishing the socio-fundament for civilized society on basis of comprehending natural environment. The stereotypes are represented through a stable merit called etalon.

National mentality features cannot be defined solely on examples of singular use, but based on wholesome definition of its mental content, the category of its content, corresponding phrases, metaphors and metonymy. Only entire encompassment of these can prove authenticity of the research method, as according to the study.
