Abstract

In this article about Ku-li (谷蠡, guli) and Tang-hu (當戶, danghu), the titles of Hsiung-nu princes, the author concludes that these words could be the ancient form of ‹ja’ut›-quri and tamma- ‹cin›, recorded in various histories from the Xth to the XIII centuries.
