Орчин цагийн хятад хэлэнд түгээмэл хэрэглэгддэг нэгэн өвөрмөц бүтэц байдаг нь 把 (ba) угтвар үг бүхий өгүүлбэр бөгөөд үндсэн бүтэц нь өгүүлэгдэхүүн (S) + 把 + тусагдахуун (O)+ үйл (V) юм. Зохиогч энэхүү өгүүлэлдээ 把 бүтцийн утга зүйн шинжийг үйлийн байдлын онолын үүднээс судлав. Өмнөх судлаачдаас ялгаатай нь 把 бүтцийг өгүүлбэрийн түвшинд илрэх үйлийн арга буюу үйлийн дотоод цагийн шинж чанарын (Aktionsart) үүднээс хэлний бодит жишээ баримтад тулгуурлан авч үзсэн бөгөөд 把 бүтэц нь цагийн хязгаарт (temporally bounded) буюу төгсөх байдалд буй (perfective aspect) үйлийг заадаг бол, харин 把 угтвар үг нь тусагдахууны хязгаарт шинжийг илтгэх үүрэгтэй хэмээн дүгнэлээ.
