An Existentialist Analysis of Coercive Training and Recovery Behaviors for Men Perpetrating Domestic Violence

This article explores a potential approach to help men who have perpetrated domestic violence move beyond their identity as "abusers," recover psychologically, and adopt a new perspective on themselves and their place in society. The positive impact of Rites of Passage, particularly those involving prayer rituals and fostering healing through "communitas," is discussed. Furthermore, this approach is analyzed from anthropological, social work, and existential philosophical perspectives, with an emphasis on how such group-based interventions may support men in reducing domestic violence and transforming their lives.
