Abstract

Closed consonant before each syllable and after each non-final syllable were existed in the ancient Mongolian language which can be seen from the orthography of the Mongolian script. One clear instance of this trend is geminate and long consonants in the Mongolian language.

There were only two syllables 'CV' and ‘CVC’ in proto Mongolian, but the structure has been continuously changed till today.

It is necessary to study the functions of initial consonant of ‘CCV’ stnictural affixes of Mongolian by the phonomorphological point of view.
