Dairaltsaa, one of the traditional genres of Mongolian oral literature, has been showing many kinds of variations in both contents and forms, with the gradual change of lifestyle and cultural contexts. Taking the living tradition of Dairaltsaa in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China as a case, the contents include various elements such as cattle herding, hunting, farming, and influences of different religions, as well as those of Chinese written literature; in forms, it shows the feature of inter-textuality or integration of many other oral genres. In the way of performance and transmission, it is more and more adopted to the internet context and is often performed on-stage now. It has been inscribed on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritages of Inner Mongolia, and some Dairaltsaa were selected in the reading materials of elementary schools.
