Abstract

Separating the theoritical and common sense meaning of tolerance, the authors of this article have proposed a formulation that tolerance, theoritically, is human behaviour in which persons or groups of people who have different socio-political status, belief, generally cultural tradition and wealth emphasize on mutually agreeing and understanding each other, choosing nonviolent action solving the controversial issues and obeying legal and moral norms. According to the authors' view, tolerance is specific value and techniques that is not just towards other people, but also toward the world and the nature. That tolerance in the diverse areas of social life have their own distinction has been fully examined in the article.
