Typology of syllabic structures in Kalmyk and Russian

Abstract

In this article the author discusses the comparative-typological analysis of the types and structures of syllables in Kalmyk and Russian. They show the following structural model of syllables: V, VC, CV and CVC. There found differences in the practical realization of these models. In some cases, these types of syllables in both languages are adequate, in others there are quite significant differences
