Complex expedition in western Mongolia; the route of Academician B.Ya.Vladimirtsov, after 100 years
Abstract
Western Mongolia, Kalmyk consider their historic ancestral home and everything associated with it they have been associated with memory of previous generations, with the great nomadic civilization, the rich spiritual culture and heroic history. Due to various circumstances, this region has long remained outside the field research Kalmyk State University, and it has become possible in the summer of 2007.
Many years plans were destined to be realized within the framework of several expeditions, two of which were supported by the Russian Foundation for Humanities and Ministry of Education, Culture, Science of Mongolia: "Folklore and the language of the
Western Mongolian (Oirat) in the context of Central Asian oral poetic and written tradition" and "The historical connection of Kalmyk and Oirat of western Mongolia, the rest were implemented by the efforts of Kalmyk State University, Kalmyk Institute of Humanities Research and "Тод номын гэрэл”, NGO of Mongolia. One hundred years later (2007), scientists Kalmyk State University in cooperation with Mongolian colleagues managed to go the route of academician Vladimirtsov BJ, visit Khovd and Uvs aimags (total length of the route of the expedition - 2800 kilometers from north to south, while on the road - 30 days), to meet with durved, torguud, bayad, khoton, myangat, oold and other sub-ethnic groups of western Mongolia.
