On a Series of Participle Affixes in the Khitan Language

Abstract

Based on the “gender-number” agreement phenomenon in the Khitan grammatical system, this paper conducts a systematic grammatical analysis of the sentences in Khitan large and small script documents, and then summarizes a set of participle affixes It also demonstrates that the grammatical meanings they express present an oppositional relationship of “feminine singular”—”masculine singular”—”plural”.
