Abstract

In the labor market, job seekers choose jobs as well as the economic sector to which they would belong, based on their expected income differences. This study evaluates the effect on the income distribution of employees with the same level of education and occupation. These effects were estimated for university and college graduates in teacher education, medicine, and veterinary programs. This data was used from the national representative Graduate’s Employment Survey in which involved graduates from universities, colleges, and TVETs in the academic year of 2012/2013. The average per working day wage of graduates working in the education and health sectors is lower by 4400 MNT than that of graduates with the same educational and medical professions and are working in other sectors. This is about 18 percent of the average daily salary of graduates of these professional programs in the labor market.
