Inseparable part of teaching and learning process, which is discussed internationally in recent years, is self and peer assessments that are the students’ participation in assessing their knowledge and competence. Nowadays, the students tend to criticize their teachers’ assessment instead of analyzing their own performances. Therefore, we consider that there is a need to study the significance of students’ assessment, its methods and forms as self and peer assessments contribute considerably towards encouraging students to take greater responsibility for their learning and more effectively internalising academic standards and assessment criteria. Moreover, we have carried out some experiments on using peer assessment in several English classes, consequently we have achieved considerable good results.
