There are numerous facts related to the ancient history of Mongols in Chinese historical sources. The present survey introduces facts about the Kidan culture and customs into research exchange by translating and explaining some samples. Some samples from the volume 45 of the History of Liao- Liao Shi (《辽史》) , volumes 2,3 of the Records of a Chinese official of the Kidan state (《辽汉臣志》), Records of a Liao State, Historic records of a Liao State are included. History of Liao- Liao Shi (《辽史》) and Records of a Chinese official of the Kidan state (《辽汉臣志》) were used as main sources. In addition, there is brief introduction of sources on history of Kidan that resided in the Northern and North-Eastern to North-Western parts of modern China in X-XII centuries.
