The article discusses the latest trends in narrative studies. Due to the impact of the Cold War, there was a strong tendency to emphasize narratives with ideological content and ignore narratives expressing personal opinions. However, since the 1980s in America, the opportunity for individuals to express their opinions and positions has become relatively free. This article tries to reflect that this situation had an important impact on the development of narrative studies. Furthermore, it is intended to outline the results of researchers' research that the narrative expressed by people through words and sentences is a mental reflection of that person.
From the 1920s, the monologue attracted the attention of researchers, and in the 1930s, Chicago's ``Life Story'' became the basis for research. Also, "In the 1960s, based on the French concept of structuralism, the role of narrative in cultural phenomena became very interested," Develop as a study」, gradually, it became an independent field of study such as narrative science.
