This paper, following Thomas S. Kuhn’s definition of paradigms and the ways in which sciences evolve, aims to bring to light some pressing topics, like patterns behind the evolution of linguistics, its paradigm shifts, its present situation, and its positioning amongst other sciences.
To inspect the linguistics evolution, it is simply broken down into three main paradigms by chronological order of endorsement: Comparative-Historical Linguistics, Structural linguistics and lastly the current paradigm the Anthropological paradigm.
If the former two paradigms cover linguistics evolution up until the present, the current paradigm, the Anthropological paradigm helps ascertain upcoming issues.
Cognitive neuroscience’s paradigms emphasize the cognitive function of languages, and as it answers the question of how we humans become who we are, this paper expresses on how it is imperative to the development of human nature within individuals and society as a whole.
