Abstract

The mining sector has become a key driver of Mongolia’s economic growth; however, issues related to local community participation and benefit sharing remain insufficiently studied. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine international models of community participation and benefit sharing in the mining economy and to identify opportunities for their application in Mongolia.
A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys, interviews, and document analysis involving residents of Gurvantes, Khanbogd, and Tsogttsetsii soums of Umnugovi province. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis with SPSS software.
