Abstract

Foremost is the simple fact that voters respond more to their perceptions than to objective realities about campaigns and candidates. In other words, candidate images mediate political messages and voter thoughts about those messages. Political behaviors, such as voting, are done in relation to political images. Candidate images cannot be taken for granted and that the electorate forms images that are based on perceptions, attitudes, and emotions.
