Abstract

Mongolia has very rich tradition of humoristic and satirical journalism. With the publication of the first social-political satirical magazine «The Nurturing and Disgust» the era of Mongolian humoristic and satirical journalism was founded in November 1935. In the last more 70 years Mongolian humor and satire has been developing through the pages of humoristic and satirical magazines such as: «The Crocodile», «The Nurturing, Disgust», «Тhe Woodpecker» and other magazines and newspapers. During the period there have been a number of changes in genre, content and forms of humor and satire works. Moreover, a number of new types of satire have been developed and the features of writing and styles have been diversifying and enriching continuously. In the last periods the humor and satire in Mongolian journalism have been covering more than 20 main topics and have been utilizing more than 10 genres of writing.
