Abstract

In this article, I will discuss how social
media change the journalism. Particularly,
how it modify the way news is gathered,
reported and consumed as well as what it
means for the future of news. Also, this article
will attempt to determine what the speed,
necessity, value of news in the social media
era is. Furthermore, I will consider about the
networked journalism and the 5th estate,
which are the new concepts of journalism.
Lastly, this article will try to answer the
questions: What is journalism in the age of
social media, who is the journalist of the
future, and does journalism still matter?
