Abstract

Each country pays more attention to
the quality of the national language used in its
national media as a part of the policy to protect
its national language and culture. Nowadays,
there are a lot of linguistic errors in the news
program of commercial broadcasting,
including national public broadcasting. In
particular, there are many sentence structure
and word choice errors in the content of sports
news on commercial and national public
broadcasting. Wrong sentence structure and
word choice contained in the content of sports
news might remain in the mind of the audience
and it may have negative effects on the
linguistic usage of the public.
