Abstract

In this study, the current situation and
problems will be evaluated by comparing the
content and types of genre in local
newspapers in 1970, when the local
newspaper system was established, and
today in 2022. Prior to 1990, local newspapers
were dominated by information about
agriculture, farming, industry, and rural life.
But today, most of the page of local
newspapers is non-journalistic information
such as news of government agencies, laws
and regulations and contract advertising. Also,
it can be considered that today's local
newspapers cannot deliver information on
important topics in many genres, and it is not
in the form of information that is attractive to
local people.
