Abstract

A comparative study of the social,
historical and cultural value orientations
carried in the compilation of traditional
Mongolian orthographic dictionaries bet
ween China and Mongolia were discussed in
this paper. We selected eight traditional
Mongolian orthographic dictionaries from
China and Mongolia as sources of
information. A vertical and horizontal
comparison and research were conducted
on the nine versions of information and
writing methods in these dictionaries. Nine
versions of information, including of the
reprint explanation, foreword, preface,dictionary name in the copyright page,
author, publication time, publication location,
type of text, directory arrangement,
orthography, appendix, reference, etc. The
writing method includes nine aspects such
as quantity, order, standard, type, part of
speech, explanation, indefinite "n", phonetic
symbols, and loanwords.
