Abstract

In this article, the author examines how most of the ideas, assumptions, and assessments put forward by postmodernist theorists about mass media have become a reality with the active penetration of the Internet into social life and the development of online journalism, and have affected society in various ways (positively and negatively). The author discusses in detail how internet journalism has become an important means of communication and knowledge acquisition, independent of space and time factors. Moreover, it has become a swift, accessible, transparent, and pluralistic platform for obtaining any desired information in the virtual world, expanding the scope of common interests and playing a key role in the development of science and information society.
