Acta Mongolica is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access, interdisciplinary journal published by the Institute for Mongolian Studies, the National University of Mongolia with emphasis on Mongolian Studies in the social sciences and humanities including linguistics, philology, anthropology, culture, religion, archaeology and history, socio-political studies, economics and international studies. The journal also aims to promote area-based research institutes and studies and academic collaboration. It serves as a Mongolia knowledge hub and database for researchers, practitioners and policymakers worldwide. The journal publishes 1-2 issues annually with additional special issues since 2002.  Journal's Print ISSN is 2074-1014 and online ISSN is 2959-5630.

Since 2002, the Institute for Mongolian Studies of the National University of Mongolia has been publishing the journal "Acta Mongolica" and distributing it worldwide to research communities online as well as in printed form.

The journal welcomes academic articles and book reviews in the fields of linguistics, history, anthropology, archaeology, culture, religion, society, philosophy, politics, law, and economics focusing on regional issues, especially regarding Mongolia and Inner Asia. 

The journal also aims to promote area-based research institutes and studies and academic collaboration. It serves as a Mongolia knowledge hub and database for researchers, practitioners and policymakers worldwide.
