Abstract

Abstract: Although the government is making every effort to improve the quality and competitiveness of higher education institutions, the current situations of education shows that much remains to be done to bring higher education in line with international standards. In our country, there is research on the motivation and satisfaction of higher education staff, but there is not enough research to determine the relationship between higher education culture and employee satisfaction. The purpose of study is to determine the relationship between public university culture and how it affects employee satisfaction. The OCI: Organizational Culture Inventory, developed by Cook and Lafferty (1983), was used to measure the culture of a public university. The culture of a public university is divided into creative, aggressive and submissive. Thus, the creative culture of the organization is relatively high in public universities. It was also observed that the creative culture of the state university had a strong influence on employee satisfaction (r = 0.546, p <0.000), while the culture of aggressiveness and submissiveness had a weak effect on employee satisfaction.
