About the Journal

The Journal of Sociology (Социологи сэтгүүл) is an academic journal published annually by the Department of Sociology and Social Work at the National University of Mongolia (NUM). Its inaugural issue appeared in 2002, and its 19th issue was published in 2025. The journal has specific academic standards and formatting guidelines that authors must adhere to when submitting manuscripts. The editorial board comprises a total of 15 members, including 12 leading Mongolian scholars and 3 international experts from Turkey, Russia, and Japan. These international board members participate in the rigorous peer-review process, assessing manuscripts based on specially developed evaluation criteria and an official evaluation form. Articles that meet the required academic standards are accepted and published. Each issue typically includes 30–35 scholarly articles. It accepts submissions in all areas of sociology and is published once a year in the Mongolian language.
