Abstract

Abstract: This article will explain how ideologies create values, pieces of knowledge, and attitudes about the social welfare system. Not a few researchers emphasize a relationship between political ideologies and the development of the social welfare system. Using core questions that examine the social welfare system, the author highlights different viewpoints of the main political ideologies including conservatism, liberalism (neoliberalism), socialism, social democracy, communitarianism on how social welfare as an institution should exist in a society.
