Abstract
Abstract: Institution of Higher Education enrollment is an important process; with one in five children attending 1990, three out of five children in 2010, and four out of five children in 2018, the number of tertiary education students are increasing, and the government is implementing a policy that alleviates gender gaps. However , women’s enrollment is still superior, in a comparison to the other countries. Therefore , the research article aims to highlight the gender issues of admission and the gender knowledge, attitude of enrolled students. Gender analysis uses quantitative and qualitative research methods based on the empowerment model for women. This research project has surveyed 1,450 enrolled students and held 35 focus group discussions to analyse the overall results. Data collection was organised in Ulaanbaatar city, Khovd, Dornod, Orkhon, Dornogovi and Khuvsgul provinces. It has also analyzed and summarized an education and a gender titled government policies, laws, universities regulations, programmes, statistics, monographs, and research reports. The study showed that the females are dominating the university admissions and the enrolled students are still conforming to the common gender stereotypes.
