Abstract

This article looks at how US-Iranian relations which directly and indirectly
affect global oil market. This is because in September 2019, the conflict between
the two countries escalated and came to the brink of war. Although Washington
and Tehran have managed to avoid the threat of war, there is no guarantee that
this will not happen again. On the other hand, with the new administration formed
as a result of the 2020 US presidential election, Washington’s policy toward Iran
is expected to change, and its eagerness to sit down with Tehran at the negotiating
table is expected to bring positive outcomes which would stabilize oil prices.
The first part of the article provides an overview of US-Iranian relations, focusing
on the policies of US presidents on Iran. The second part of the article discusses
Iran’s position and influence in the world oil market, as well as the changes
that could take place in the world oil market as a result of the US-Iran nuclear
talks that began in April this year. The concluding part of the article presents the
researcher’s position on the impact of changes and implications on the world oil
market which might appear related to the US-Iran relations on Mongolia
