Abstract

The fight against poverty in the People’s Republic of China, initiated by
the Eighteenth Congress of the Chinese Communist Party in 2012, has achieved
distinctive results and China declared to the world that it has fully achieved its goal
of eradicating poverty by the end of 2020. Thus, for the first time in its thousands
of years of history, China has eradicated poverty, vanished the backwardness
of poverty-suffered regions, and promoted overall rural development. The fight
against poverty has also brought some major evolution and comprehensive
changes in rural China
