Abstract
The article discusses a series of events and actions occurred during
the historical period starting from the time Mongolia declared its independence
from the Manchu subjugation through the moment the United States recognized
its independence. In doing so, the author conducts contextual analyses of official
primary sources in which the U.S. government expressed its intention and
position to establish diplomatic and trade relations between the two countries,
the main vision behind the 1924 agreement concluded between the Soviet Union
and the Middle Kingdom in Beijing, the goal and meaning of U.S. Vice President
Henry Wallace’s visit to Mongolia, the outcome of the Yalta Conference as well
as the Middle Kingdom’s recognition of Mongolia’s independence.
