Abstract

This article attempts to highlight economic diplomacy as a fundamental
policy for national security. Today, economic diplomacy is needed to be seen in
complex with national and foreign policies as a multidimensional policy, which
should have effects to other foreign policy goals. The theory-oriented research of
economic diplomacy, reinforced with soft power policy and soft power resources,
is the first attempt to define direct and interconnected ways both to develop and
practice them in the future. Soft power (resources) and soft power policy might
give double or parallel out-turns to its recipients, which both may lead to positive
or negative consequences.
