The changes of Mongolian foreign policy in post cold war period and in "Multilateral engagement" policy

Abstract

In the article, the author analyzed Mongolian foreign policy in Post Cold War period. Since its post-Cold War transition to a vibrant democracy in the early 1990s, Mongolia has pursued an independent foreign policy on the basis of the “multilateral engagement” doctrine. According to the author, this term describes a strategy in which Mongolia works for constructive relations with all nations, seeks independence from its two giant neighbors, and avoids dependence on any single partner.
