Abstract

Abstract: Art therapy is a professional intervention that helps in reducing emotional pain, fear, and stress of human and foster healing and mental well-being through allowing to express unpleasant feelings and making to understand a nature of problem using techniques of art therapy. In this sense, use of different types of art therapy is appropriate and safe technique to overcome unpleasant feelings.

Aim of the current study was to analyze changes in social skills of 12 adolescents of a residential care who participated in art therapy program. The study was conducted through analysis of findings of pre and post tests and observations of changes in social skills of 12 adolescents who were trained in managing their emotions and feelings. Findings of pre and post tests and observations demonstrated reduced levels of anger and stress and increased levels of self-esteem of the adolescents.
