Abstract. Case studies have different meanings and applications in academic world. The case studies serve as teaching strategy to show the application of a theory or concept to real  situations. But this article discusses about case study as one of  the qualitative research designs. In the social sciences, a case study is a research method involving in-depth, and detailed examination of a particular case and small number of cases using multiple methods from many sources. The case study may be a variety of specific purposes and research questions, it’s general objective is to develop as full an understanding of that case as possible. There are several steps to be taken for the case study: determine and define research questions; select cases and determine data collection and analysis techniques; collection of data in the field; analyze data and write report.
