Abstract

Abstract: This research paper is shown analyzes of Kazakh ethnic protest in 1990 at Mongolia. Author did two field trip to Bayan-Ulgii and Alma-Ata, Kazaxstan, met twenty people and made interview. Also the new archive documents discovered from Bayan-Ulgii aimag level archive and Central Archive, MPRP archive.

The theoretical approach if this study suggest that the “Tilly’s contentious politics” with three aspects such as “nationalistic mobilization”, “political opportunity’s”, and “soft weakly regime”. I approved that one hypothesis that the protest is related ethnic identity of Kazakhs.
