Abstract

One of the relatively recent sciences in our country is political science. In this article, we have summarized the current state of political science research theory, methodology, and characteristics since the 1990s by summarizing the theories, concepts, and solutions of the research papers. One of our main goals is to look back to our history, learn from it, and refine our research, so recalling the past is its nature and a choice that will be passed on to future generations. In that context, we have outlined in our introductions an overview of Mongolian political knowledge and thought traditions. Therefore, in this review article, we have tried to divide the political science research, analysis theory and methodological situation in Mongolia before and after 1990 into two main parts and periodically as follows. These include (i) an overview of Mongolian political thinking and its nature; (ii) The Theory of Scientific Communism and the Marxist-Leninist Doctrine (1972-1990); (iii) The search for new theories and methodologies or the transition period (1990-2000); (iv) the new development of political science (2000-2010); (v) Current status and future trends of political science research in Mongolia (2010-present)
