WESTERN INFORMATION ON THE KITANS AND SOME RELATED QUESTIONS

Abstract

By making use of hitherto mostly untapped and the testimony of onomastic material, the present paper attempts to document the survival of Kitan and Karakitay groups in Siberia and in European Russia following the dissolution of the Karakitay empire in 1218.
