Determining the Knowledge and Skills Required for Accountants

Abstract

The skills required for jobs continue to change due to advances in artificial intelligence and information technology. In particular, the researchers believe that accounting professionals are more likely to lose their jobs in the future and need to improve some skills and specialize in certain areas. Therefore, this study aims to find out what knowledge and skills are important for accountants to perform their duties, and what skills need to be developed. As a result of the research, accountants considered that personal skills such as technical skills, communication skills, teamwork skills, and problem solving skills are not only the most important, but also need to be continuously improved in the future.
