Abstract

We analyzed the machine translation of metaphors using Ts. Damdinsuren's novel The Rejected Girl as a case study, comparing Zhang Yuyuan's translation with that of Google Translate. Our observations are based on the premise that the quality of machine translation can be evaluated by its ability to accurately render metaphors and effectively handle the figurative language commonly found in literature".
