Abstract

The article aims to introduce a survey of Mongolian literary works that have been translated from Mongolian into English by both Mongolian and foreign translators. Iconopoeic (form-depicting) Words are a literary tool, as can be seen in the works of Mongolian writers. We have tried to show how iconopoeic (form-depicting) words in Mongolian, especially verbs, are expressed in English in the examples of Mongolian literary translations. Examples are taken from translations by our famous translators, and conclusion was made based on the translation

examples. It has been observed that iconopoeic (form-depicting) words were translated using free translation in Mongolian literature, especially in Mongolian prose and also these words were

often omitted in the context.
