Abstract

Translation textbooks and manuals development is important not only for training

professional translators and interpreters, but also for enhancing the effectiveness of foreign

language teaching. Universities and researchers have developed and used a large number of

translation textbooks and manuals as part of their professional translator training activities. This

process demonstrates that the study of translation materials and aids plays an important role in the

development of translation studies. In the framework of this article, we have studied the design of

translation teaching materials on the example of handbook named “Translation techniques 1”,

“Translation techniques 2” developed by ourselves. As the basis for explaining the design of these

2 handbooks, several theoretical works on translation studies have been studied.
