ЯПОН ХЭЛНИЙ ХЭЛЦ ҮГИЙН ОРЧУУЛГЫН ТУХАЙД (“KI” (気) ГЭХ ҮГ БҮХИЙ ХЭЛЦИЙН ЖИШЭЭГЭЭР)

Abstract

        In this paper, we focused on problems the translating idioms, improvement to translation idioms, and investigate the applicability of many strategies in the translation of idioms from Japanese into Mongolian. This report aimed to find out suitable methods for translating idioms. To get this aim, we used the phraseology classification model: equivalent translation method, literal translation method, analogical translation method, and analytical description method, determined by D. Dashdavaa (1973) We also analyzed the translation of the Japanese phrase “soul” from the sources into the translated phrase, and checked the method of translating the remaining untranslated phrase into Mongolian. Findings show that the analytical description method is suitable for translating Japanese idioms into Mongolian.
